Richard Powers teaches:
7pm Intermediate: A flurry of One-Step variations. This easy vintage dance, popular at FNW, is still alive today thanks to a wide array of variations. Learn both the original Ragtime variations and some of the newest ones.
8pm Intermediate/Advanced: Premiere - the B&B Waltz Variations. These are new and *very* different freestyle waltz variations developed by Bill and Beata, two of Richard's former students who are now teaching in San Diego. You'll like them.
Special Performance by Academy of Danse Libre,the nations premier vintage dance group. From their website,"Danse Libre is dedicated to the lively exhibition of vintage social dances.Danse Libre performs a variety of breathtaking pieces from the 19th and early 20th centuries in authentic period costume. Each of our dances brings to life a period in history, complete with the music, dance, dress, and mannerisms of the time."
Tom Hill teaches an introductory waltz class from 7 to 9pm. For best results, start class at 7pm.
Richard is our Dj. Waltz music from 9 to 12 in the Main Ballroom.
All ages, Comfortable attire. No partner necessary. We rotate rapidly in
class. $12 for both the classes and the dance. $8 for seniors or
students or after 9pm.
